The Night

The World's End is a riverside pub at Bond End in Knaresborough — multi-tiered terrace, winter tipi and a warm, traditional feel. Its Sunday open mic, which famously survived Covid by moving online, runs every Sunday evening (roughly 7pm–10:30pm) and pulls a friendly crowd of regulars. Free to play; just turn up. There's a dedicated 'Open Mic At The Worlds End' Facebook group and @worldsendopenmic on Instagram.

About Worlds End

The World's End is a historic riverside pub at 65 Bond End, Knaresborough (HG5 9AU) — note the venue sits in Knaresborough, not central Harrogate, despite the Harrogate city slug. Steeped in character, it pairs perfectly poured pints with hearty, freshly prepared food (stone-baked pizzas and burgers Friday to Sunday plus classic pub grub) and a large, south-facing tiered outdoor area overlooking the river. For performers the weekly fixture is the open mic / live music every Sunday from 6:30pm, showcasing local talent in a relaxed setting with a PA. A welcoming, scenic grassroots spot for acoustic and local acts.

Planning Your Sunday Night

Arrive early to sign up for a slot. Entry is free and the open mic typically runs until 22:30. A PA is provided — bring your own instrument and amp.

What should you charge for paid gigs? Most open mic musicians are ready for paid work sooner than they think. Check live UK rates by role, city, and venue size.
