The flywheel

Most platforms are a pile of features. GigXchange is a loop: more members bring more gigs, more gigs sharpen the UK fee data, and better data helps more people find you — so the platform works harder the more it's used.

Inside each part

Three connected parts — a public website for discovery, a members-only booking app, and a UK gig-fee data engine. Click any domain in the flywheel to see the tools inside it and how it feeds the other two.

Get found

The Website

The public side anyone can browse without signing up — a discovery engine for the UK live scene plus a suite of free tools, engineered to be found by people and by AI assistants. Every page is a doorway.

How it powers the rest

Every profile, listing and article is a doorway — turning searches (and the answers AI assistants give) into sign-ups for the app.

Why the whole beats the sum

A standalone directory or a lone booking app each solve one problem. Joined into a loop, they compound — more places to be found, more confirmed bookings, and pricing backed by real UK gig-fee data.

More ways to be found

Your profile, listings, press kit and the guides around them each earn their own discovery — so you turn up in more places, not just one.

Your wins travel

What you do in the app — events, press kits, confirmed gigs — turns into public pages that help even more people discover you.

Smarter pricing, for everyone

Every booking and survey sharpens the UK fee data — so you, and the whole scene, price and pitch with real numbers instead of guesswork.

Platform FAQs

Quick answers to what people ask about how GigXchange fits together.

GigXchange is the UK's peer-to-peer live music platform — one connected system in three parts: a public website that helps people discover you, a members-only app (Mainstage) where you connect, negotiate, book and get paid, and the GX Index data engine that benchmarks real UK gig fees. It serves artists, venues, agents and promoters.
Yes — free to join, free to list, free to browse, and free to use every tool. No subscription and no listing fee. Long term, GigXchange charges only a small platform fee on confirmed and paid bookings, and never takes commission from your fee — you don't pay just to have a profile or get discovered.
No. The entire public side is open without signing up — member profiles, the Gig Directory, the Open Mic Finder, the Venue Directory, the GX Index and the free tools. You only need a free account to message, send or accept a booking, and get paid.
The website is the public, no-login side built for discovery — profiles, directories, the GX Index and guides. The app (Mainstage) is the members area where the work happens: Smart Match, messaging, bookings, secure payments and promo tools. They feed each other — your public pages bring people in, and what you do in the app (events, press kits, confirmed gigs) flows back out as fresh public pages.
Three things working together: you're discovered on the public website (your profile, the directories and AI search), matched in the app via Smart Match and messaging to the right venues, artists, agents or promoters, and you close the deal with in-app negotiation and secure payment — no commission on your fee and no gatekeepers.
The GX Index is a transparent benchmark of real UK gig fees by city and act type, with a free Rate Calculator. Instead of guessing or undercharging, you can price every gig and pitch against real market data — and it gets sharper as the platform is used.
Payments run through Stripe. When a booking is confirmed the deposit is held securely in escrow; once both sides mark the gig complete, funds are released to the performer. GigXchange never stores card details, and takes no commission from your fee — only a small platform fee on the confirmed booking.
It's for everyone in UK live music — artists, venues, agents and promoters. It's currently UK-only: all members are UK-based to list and book, with international expansion on the roadmap but not yet dated.
