The Fenton is an independently owned pub on the edge of Leeds city centre, on Woodhouse Lane (161, LS2 3ED) in the university quarter. It runs an open-mic / jam night where all are welcome — open-mic spots and full-band spots both available, with PA and backline provided and house bass and electric guitars on hand for performers (and free sweets for everyone who plays). It also hosts trivia nights through the week and occasional gigs in its upstairs room, with a large selection of locally sourced craft ales and cider, classic English fare, bar games and a beer garden with picnic tables.

The Night
The Fenton on Woodhouse Lane is one of Leeds' most-loved independent live-music pubs, and its jam night now runs every Monday from 8pm — the pub's own what's-on lists 'Fenton Jam Night' alongside its poker night, with Tuesdays given over to Tiki Tuesdays instead. The house kit is unusually generous: a full PA and backline are provided, with a house bass and electric guitar there for anyone to use, so you can rock up empty-handed and still plug in. It's all welcome and unpretentious — free sweets for every performer and £2 beers on the night sum up the spirit of the place.
