Getting Started

Create your account, choose your role, and start building your profile in minutes.

Click Get Started in the top navigation bar. Choose your account type (Artist, Venue, Promoter, or Booking Agent), enter your details, and verify your email address. You'll be able to start building your profile straight away. Need a walkthrough? See our Quick Start Guides for your role.
GigXchange supports four account types: Artist (solo performers, bands, DJs), Venue (pubs, clubs, arenas, festivals), Promoter (event organisers), and Booking Agent (talent representatives). Each type has tailored features for its role in the live music ecosystem.
Creating an account and browsing the platform is completely free. GigXchange charges a flat 5% service fee on confirmed bookings to cover payment processing and platform costs — there are no monthly subscriptions or hidden charges. You can browse all profiles and explore the gig directory without signing up.
Yes. GigXchange is built specifically for the UK live music scene. All profiles, gig listings, and fee data are UK-based, and payments are processed in GBP (£). We cover 40+ cities across England, Scotland, Wales, and Northern Ireland. Browse by city on our city directory.
Each account is tied to a single role — Artist, Venue, Promoter, or Booking Agent. If you operate in more than one capacity, you can create a second account with a different email address. Each profile is independent with its own bookings and messages.

How Bookings Work

How gig requests, confirmations, and cancellations work on the platform.

Start by browsing profiles or posting a gig opportunity. When you find a match, send a booking enquiry with your proposed date, fee, and details. The other party can accept, decline, or counter-offer. Once both sides agree, the booking is confirmed and appears on both calendars. Not sure what to offer? Check the GigXchange Rate Calculator for typical UK fees.
Yes, bookings can be cancelled before the event date. Cancellation terms depend on how far in advance the cancellation is made. We encourage both parties to communicate through the platform's messaging system to resolve any issues before cancelling. For full details, see our Terms & Conditions.
After a booking is completed, both parties are invited to leave a review. Reviews include a star rating and written feedback. Reviews help build trust across the platform and are visible on public profiles. See real examples on our Member Spotlight pages.
Venues and promoters can post gig opportunities from their dashboard. Add the date, time, location, genre preferences, and fee range — then artists in matching cities and genres will see it in their feed. You can also browse the Gig Directory to see what's already listed near you.
Every member has a built-in inbox. You can message any profile directly to discuss availability, fees, or gig details before committing to a booking. Messages are threaded per conversation and stay in your dashboard. Messaging is free and unlimited — no credit system or paywalls.

Fees & Payments

Fees, deposits, Stripe payouts, and what happens to your money after a gig.

Payments are processed securely through Stripe. When a booking is confirmed, the agreed fee is held in escrow. After the event is completed and both parties confirm, funds are released to the performer or their agent. All transactions are tracked in your dashboard.
GigXchange accepts all major credit and debit cards via Stripe. All payments are processed in GBP (£). Want to understand typical booking fees? See the GigXchange Rate Calculator or browse UK market statistics.
When you receive your first booking, you'll be prompted to connect a Stripe account. This takes about two minutes — you'll enter your bank details, verify your identity, and you're set. Once connected, payouts are sent automatically after each completed gig.
When a booking is confirmed, the agreed fee is collected from the booker and held securely by Stripe. The money is not released to the performer until 7 days after the gig date, giving both parties time to flag any issues. See our Terms & Conditions for full escrow details.

Your Account & Profile

Manage your profile details, reset your password, or delete your account.

Sign in and navigate to your profile from the sidebar. You can update your bio, photos, media links, genres, location, and availability at any time. A complete profile significantly increases your chances of getting booked or finding the right talent.
Click Sign In, then select Forgot Password. Enter the email address associated with your account and we'll send you a reset link. The link expires after 24 hours. Still stuck? Contact us and we'll help you get back in.
Yes. Go to Settings and click Delete Account. Any active bookings must be resolved first. Your account then enters a 28-day grace period during which your profile is hidden and you can cancel the request. After 28 days, your data is permanently deleted. See our Privacy Policy for full details.
Yes. Your profile page is publicly visible so that potential bookers can find you without needing an account. This includes your display name, bio, photos, genres, location, and reviews. Your email address and private messages are never shown publicly.
If something goes wrong with a booking, both parties should first try to resolve it through the platform's messaging system. If you can't reach an agreement, contact our support team with your booking reference and we'll review the case. Funds held in escrow are not released until the issue is resolved.
