Hales Bar is one of Harrogate's oldest pubs, a Crescent Road institution with a nationally important Victorian interior on CAMRA's National Inventory of Historic Pub Interiors — original gas lighting still burns over the bar, and the snug Vaults Bar adds to the character (the pub even featured in Chariots of Fire). Live music is a fixture: karaoke every Thursday from 9pm, an 'Ultimate Cheese' music night on Saturdays, and a relaxed Sunday-afternoon acoustic session from 4pm hosted by Ade Payne with weekly guests and open-mic slots.
