The Night

The Windmill is a busy live-music local in Southport that runs its open mic every Friday from 8:30pm, with live acts most Thursdays (with Drew) and Saturdays too, plus a monthly Speak Up poetry and spoken-word night. It's a friendly, music-forward room — free to get up and play; just turn up and sign on with the host. Find it on Seabank Road (PR9 0EL).

About The Windmill

The Windmill is one of Southport's oldest pubs, with records going back to around 1833, tucked just off the historic promenade on Seabank Road. It runs a busy live-music week: acoustic sets with Drew on Thursdays from 9pm, an open mic every Friday from 8.30pm, live music on Saturdays from 9pm, and a poetry and spoken-word open mic on the second Sunday of each month. A traditional real-ale pub with a big beer garden, it's a friendly stage for local performers.
