Brewery Arts is Kendal's independent arts centre on Highgate, a charity running cinema, theatre, comedy and a busy live-music programme across several spaces. The flexible Malt Room is the main gig room - 420 standing, 298 fully seated or 150 cabaret - and pulls in folk and traditional names (Cara Dillon, The Unthanks, Martin Simpson, Lindisfarne), Thursday jazz club nights, indie, world and fusion acts, plus a strong run of tributes. Bar and restaurant on site, open daily from late morning.
