About The Wheatsheaf

The Wheatsheaf is one of Oxford's leading grassroots live-music venues, a traditional pub at 129 High Street (OX1 4DF) with an upstairs gig room reached up a narrow staircase. The room is a long, tight, atmospheric space with a small bar and a stage at one end, holding around 150. It puts on live music four nights a week — everything from acoustic and jazz to indie and heavy rock — with up-and-coming local bands at weekends, regular comedy nights and a typical door fee of £3–£4. Downstairs keeps a wide range of craft and draught beers plus a pool table. A genuine independent stage for originals and covers; contact 01865 721156.
