About This Open Mic
The Night
Rescue Rooms is one of Nottingham's flagship grassroots music venues, just off Goldsmith Street, and home to Acoustic Rooms — its long-running open mic that's launched the likes of Jake Bugg, George Ezra and Dua Lipa since 2009. The night currently runs every Friday through summer from 6pm with always-free entry; just speak to the host when you arrive, and there's a free drink for every performer plus a house guitar you can borrow. A genuinely respected, well-run platform for new talent in a proper venue.
About Rescue Rooms
Rescue Rooms is an iconic 450-capacity live-music venue and nightclub at 25 Goldsmith Street in Nottingham city centre (NG1 5JT), open as a music venue since 2003. It runs well over a hundred gigs a year across indie, rock and alternative, and has hosted the likes of Jake Bugg, The Killers, Ellie Goulding, The Libertines and Echo and the Bunnymen on the way up. The venue has a smart bar with Chesterfield-style seating, a full in-house PA and a professional sound engineer — a proper mid-size touring-circuit room rather than a pub back-room.
