About The Palais
The Palais is a live music venue in City Centre, Nottingham with a standing capacity of approximately 2500. Contact the venue for their technical specification and backline.
The Palais books Rock, Country, Rnb, Reggae, Electronic, Alternative acts. Both original music and covers are welcome. This listing is part of the Nottingham venue directory.
The Palais is one of Nottingham's largest and most storied music venues, a 2,500-capacity hall on Lower Parliament Street in the city centre. Originally opened on 24 April 1925 as The Palais de Danse — a dance hall and billiard saloon reckoned one of the finest of its kind outside London, with its distinctive ornate globe — it later spent decades as a nightclub (Ritzy, Oceana) and famously hosted ITV's 'Hitman and Her'. After the previous operators went into administration, independent promoter DHP Family stepped in to save the building, reopening it in late 2024 with an eclectic live programme spanning country, R&B, reggae, trance, rock and electronic acts. Recent and forthcoming gigs include All Them Witches, The Molotovs and Cabaret Voltaire. With a full bar and flexible event spaces, it now serves as a major cultural asset for the city and is also available for private hire.
