About This Open Mic
The Night
Six Poor Folk is an independent café-bar-bistro set in one of Knaresborough's oldest buildings, just off the ancient Market Place, and it hosts an open mic on Sunday evenings. By all accounts it's a brilliant, friendly atmosphere — a relaxed room with a PA for performers. Open seven days a week from 10am to 11pm, so it's an easy place to drop into and get on the list.
About Six Poor Folk
Six Poor Folk occupies one of Knaresborough's oldest buildings — dating to around 1480 — just off the ancient market square at 25 Castlegate. It's a characterful bar serving good food, local beers and ciders, wines, spirits and cocktails, and was named Bar of the Year 2024 in the Harrogate Hospitality Awards. The room hosts live music and a regular events calendar: a Wednesday quiz and a Friday-evening DJ spinning soul and funk. An intimate, award-winning grassroots spot in the heart of Knaresborough with a PA for small-room acts.
