The Bugle Horn is a Grade II listed 17th-century pub at the heart of Charlton Village (6 The Village, SE7 8UD), next to the Grade I-listed Jacobean Charlton House and opposite the parish church. Low ceilings, dim lighting and open fires make for a snug, traditional room — and it has become a genuine grassroots music hub. The monthly Bugle Horn Music Showcase & Jam pairs a local-band showcase (bands play roughly three songs) with an open jam where all styles and genres are welcome. Crucially, the venue supplies a full backline: guitar and bass amps, a Pearl drum kit with Zildjian and Sabian cymbals, a Korg Krome synth, and a Mackie PA with foldback and vocal mics — so guitarists and bassists bring only their instrument, drummers bring sticks, and singers just turn up. The pub also runs regular live music on Fridays and early Sunday evenings. Around 70 standing capacity.
