The Black Rose Tavern is Edinburgh's dedicated rock bar and live gig venue, a wood-panelled room on Rose Street in the New Town decked out with dark furniture, wrought-iron chandeliers and vinyl records. The Night
The Black Rose Tavern on Rose Street is one of Edinburgh's best-loved rock bars, and it runs a weekly open mic every Tuesday from 9pm. It's a wood-panelled haunt for the goth, metal and alternative crowd, so expect a warm, slightly raucous welcome rather than a hushed acoustic room. Entry is free to play or watch, and there's a house PA to plug into. (The same bar also does Rock Karaoke and a quiz on Wednesdays from 8pm if you fancy a follow-up.)
