Bannermans is a semi-underground rock and whisky bar tucked into the vaults beneath South Bridge, on the corner of Niddry Street and the Cowgate in Edinburgh's Old Town (EH1 1NQ). It's one of the city's most established grassroots rock and metal venues, with an extensive gig schedule running live bands six nights a week in a cosy stone-vault room of around 200 capacity. The weekly Open Mic Sunday is a long-standing regulars' favourite, with Karaoke on Tuesdays. The venue books touring and local rock, metal, punk and hardcore acts and takes both originals and covers, with a full backline and house PA in the gig room.
