Biddy Mulligans is a historic Irish bar in the heart of Edinburgh's Grassmarket (94-96 Grassmarket, EH1 2JR), open 8am till 1am seven days a week and famed for its authentic Irish atmosphere. Live music runs every single night in two strands: a traditional folk 'Session' from 5:30pm to 7:30pm — Scottish and Irish players inspired by the Galway scene — followed by an acoustic set from 9pm to midnight with a different local musician each night. It pairs the music with traditional Irish food (stew, Sunday roast, strong veggie and vegan options), an outdoor terrace and 'The Wee Pub' next door, billed as Scotland's smallest pub. A dependable, nightly trad-and-acoustic stage welcoming both originals and covers.

The Night
Biddy Mulligans is a long-standing Irish pub at 94-96 Grassmarket in Edinburgh's Old Town, open 8am until 1am seven days a week, with live music every single night. The bill is resident and booked musicians rather than a sign-up night: a traditional folk session inspired by the Galway scene in the early evening, then an acoustic session from 9pm to midnight with a different local musician each night, plus a Sunday Session from 2pm in the Wee Pub, Irish hours from 7pm, and a Sunday sing-along from 9pm. As of August 2026 we have not been able to confirm a genuine open mic here - check with the pub before turning up to perform.
