The Night
Bannerman's is a much-loved, semi-underground rock and whisky bar carved into the vaults on Edinburgh's Cowgate, with live music six nights a week and an eclectic whisky list. Its open mic is a Sunday-afternoon fixture running 3pm to 8pm - a relaxed, regulars-heavy session of originals and covers with hot food and real ale on hand, finishing before the evening's booked bands load in. Free to come down and play - it's a proper gig room rather than a quiet corner, so expect amps and a stage.
