The Night
The White Lion is Heeley's prettiest pub — a heritage boozer on London Road trading since 1781, with glazed green brickwork, stained glass and a sizeable back room that hosts live music nearly every night of the week. Its open mic, hosted by Chris Firminger and The Twojays, welcomes musicians of all genres, professional or amateur, in the band room out back. Free entry, free music, a proper community local feel — there are jam sessions and gigging bands most other nights too.
About The White Lion
The White Lion is a Grade II listed heritage pub on London Road in Heeley, Sheffield, trading as a public house since 1781 and famed across the city as one of its best rooms for live music. Behind the richly tiled, glazed-green-brick facade and cosy fireplace snugs sits a sizeable back room that doubles as the stage, where jam sessions and local bands play free most nights of the week (live music every night except Wednesday, which is quiz night). Cask ales and changing guest beers keep it firmly in the grassroots, community-pub tradition. A genuine, no-frills Sheffield music institution with a 4.6/5 Google rating.
