About This Open Mic
The Night
The Tawny Owl in north Swindon (Taw Hill) hosts a friendly open mic every other Sunday, 6–9pm, run by Jordan Marvell. It's a warm, supportive room that draws around a dozen acts a session, and Jordan messages performers beforehand to map out the running order — though plenty of people just turn up on the night and get a slot. There's a full little PA with two mics and stands, all the cables, a keyboard and a box drum provided, so you can rock up with just your voice or guitar. It's a family-friendly Arkell's pub with food, a function room and a genuine community feel.
About The Tawny Owl
The Tawny Owl is a large modern Arkell's pub at the heart of the Taw Hill community in north Swindon (SN25 1WP), serving home-cooked food, real ales and premium lagers, with five en-suite letting rooms and a function room available for hire. It hosts regular live music at weekends alongside a busy events diary — a Thursday quiz night at 7.30pm and Rock & Roll Bingo on the last Friday of each month. The venue provides a PA and keys, and welcomes both original acts and covers.
