The Night

The Silly Country in Droylsden runs a relaxed open mic on the first Sunday of every month, from 6pm to 10pm. It's free to play and the room is genuinely welcoming — all skill levels and instruments get a turn, with an acoustic guitar, small keyboard, cajon and electric bass provided so you can travel light, and jamming and collaboration are warmly encouraged. Performers get a complimentary drink. The venue itself is an open-plan bar and bottle shop with four local cask ales, board games and a sunny outside drinking area, dog-friendly throughout.

About The Silly Country

The Silly Country is a characterful microbar, craft-beer bar and bottle shop at 121 Market Street, Droylsden, in Tameside, Greater Manchester (M43 7AR). It pours a rotating range of craft beers and cask ales, is dog-friendly and stocked with board games, and runs a friendly live music and open-mic session on the first Sunday of every month. All skill levels and instruments are welcome — the bar provides an acoustic guitar, small keyboard, cajon and electric bass, with jamming and collaboration actively encouraged. A professionally installed indoor/outdoor sound system and acoustic panelling support the music. A genuinely grassroots, community-minded little venue.
