The Night

The Green Room is a laid-back art-deco cocktail bar tucked on Denmark Street, right beside the Bristol Hippodrome (22 Denmark Street, BS1 5DQ). Its open mic runs on Tuesdays — sign-up from 7pm, music from 7:30pm — with free entry and friendly 10-minute slots hosted by musician, singer-songwriter and rapper Mike Walsh. Backline is generous for a bar: a Roland Go:Piano, bass guitar, mini cajon, tambourine and two mics, and if you sing but don't play, backing tracks are welcome — or Mike knows 400+ covers and will pitch them to your key. Musicians, comedians, MCs and more are all welcome.

About The Green Room

The Green Room is a laid-back, art-deco cocktail bar tucked away at 22 Denmark Street in Bristol's Harbourside — a Grade II-listed space that was once a 19th-century piano factory. Shaped like a graceful 'T', it opens into a main bar and stage area built for live music and performance. The programme leans into grassroots talent: 'Green Room Unplugged', an intimate open-mic night of raw live talent, runs every Tuesday (hosted on rotation by Mike Walsh, Graham Moncrieff and Robin Corcoran), alongside jazz open-mic evenings, comedy, DJs and private hire. Both original songwriters and covers acts are welcome on a stage that suits intimate, acoustic-leaning sets.

Planning Your Tuesday Night

Arrive by 19:00 to sign up for a slot. Entry is free and the open mic typically runs until late. A PA is provided — bring your own instrument and amp.
