The Jam Jar at 14 City Road, Bristol (BS2 8TT) is a vibrant independent community arts space and live-music venue, hosting gigs and DJ events five to six nights a week with a capacity of 210–240. The programme is global in flavour — afro-Brazilian and Colombian beats, world, Latin, soul and jazz — with a strong emphasis on local talent through jam sessions, community gatherings and festivals. A recent renovation added a second room with seating, a can bar and a cloakroom, and there's free evening parking opposite the venue. The venue prides itself on paying staff and artists fairly.
