The Night
The Arlington Bar at 130 Woodlands Road is a no-nonsense, well-loved West End local known for cheap pints and a good atmosphere, and it runs a free open mic — hosted by Gavin & Paddy — alongside regular DJ sets and a Wednesday jam session. It's an unpretentious, friendly room with a loyal regular crowd. Free to play; turn up and get on the list. (There's a PA for performers.)
About The Arlington
The Arlington Bar on Woodlands Road is a much-loved Glasgow West End institution — a charming blend of old-fashioned boozer and hipster hangout, drawing in art-school students, locals and music lovers in roughly equal measure. It hosts regular DJ sets, open-mic events and live sport, and its standout night is the Wednesday jam session run by Charlotte Marshall, a fixture of the Glasgow blues scene, who turns the back room into an intimate, welcoming jam for anyone who wants to play. The bar pours a wide, affordable range of craft beer, wine and spirits, and is famous locally for its tongue-in-cheek claim to house the 'real' Stone of Destiny. A genuinely grassroots room where blues, acoustic and folk players find a stage most weeks.
