The Glad Cafe is a much-loved community cafe and grassroots music venue at 1006A Pollokshaws Road in Shawlands, on Glasgow's south side. Above is a licensed cafe-bar serving food and coffee; downstairs is an intimate basement live room with a capacity of around 120, which programmes creative music of all kinds — indie, electronic, traditional, world and jazz — alongside spoken word and community events. Run as a not-for-profit (C.I.C.), it is a fixture of the south-side scene and champions emerging and original acts in a small, atmospheric setting.

About This Open Mic
The Night
The Glad Cafe is a much-loved community-run arts cafe and music venue on Pollokshaws Road in Shawlands, on Glasgow's south side. Sammy's Open Mic Night runs on the first Sunday of every month from 7.30pm — a free, over-18s session hosted by house band The Bucks, who back up performers and keep the night flowing. It's an ever-popular slot that fills quickly, so come down early to sign up if you want to play.
