About This Open Mic
The Night
Lendal Cellars is a cracking cellar-bar on Lendal near St Helen's Square, and on Thursdays from around 8pm it runs "Cellar Sessions" — a properly kitted-out weekly jam night and open mic hosted by Jimbo, Presh and Joe. The big draw is the backline: a full drum kit, bass and guitar amps, acoustic and electric guitars, piano/keys, percussion, mics and monitors are all provided, so you can turn up empty-handed and still play. Capacity is over 200, the vibe is collaborative rather than competitive, and anyone is welcome to jump up.
About Lendal Cellars
Lendal Cellars is a characterful Greene King pub set in an atmospheric converted underground cellar at 26 Lendal in the heart of York (YO1 8AA). Well-loved by locals and tourists alike, it serves cask ales and traditional pub food, and runs as one of Greene King's 'Live at your Local' music pubs — expect live bands playing indie, jazz, funk and rock, acoustic nights, open mics, DJ throwback and vinyl nights, and the resident Blueskies 'IrRegULar FrIdAyS' music series. A solid grassroots stage with a PA, open to both original and covers acts.
