The Night
Henry's Bar on Mount Pleasant Road runs a monthly open mic on the first Friday of the month, hosted by 'Smoo' of local band Sweet Black Angels. It takes place in the main bar and welcomes everything from acoustic to full-on rock, all abilities, in front of a friendly but genuinely enthusiastic crowd — and there's a free pint for everyone who plays. The pub uses the night to scout local acts for paid gigs, so it's a good shop window as well as a fun jam.
