Where Communities Book Live Music

GIGXCHANGE is where UK schools, clubs and volunteers book live music for community events direct. 982 artists are on the platform across 79 cities, from acoustic singers to local bands. A volunteer searches by the date and the area, hears each act first, agrees the slot and the fee in the chat and signs a contract on every booking. The booking fee is 5% on top only when you pay through GigXchange – 0% when you settle privately.

A school fete, a village fair or a summer fun day is usually run by volunteers with a small budget and a long list of jobs. The music often goes to the first parent who knows someone in a band - and on the day nobody has checked whether there is power by the stage or what happens if it rains.

Live music at a community event needs acts who can play outdoors to people walking past, keep it family-friendly, and fit a short slot in a busy programme.

On GigXchange a volunteer sees local acts who are free on the date, hears them first, and agrees the slot, the songs and who brings the sound kit in writing. There is no community-event figure in the GX Index yet, so we do not quote one - many local acts will quote a fair price for a good cause.
