01 — How to become a booking agent

Becoming a Booking Agent Is Easier Than Ever

GIGXCHANGE is where new UK booking agents build a roster and book it direct. An agent account is free: add the acts you represent, pitch 70 venues across 79 cities, agree fees in the chat and sign a contract on every booking, with your commission rate set per artist. 982 artists are on the platform. GigXchange takes 0% of the artist's booking fee, so you keep all of your commission.

Most booking agents in the UK start by accident. You book your own band, then a friend’s, then someone asks how much you charge, and suddenly you are running an agency out of your phone - with no contracts, no record of what was agreed, and a commission you have to chase.

That is the moment most new agents either grow or give up. The ones who grow put three things in place early: a roster of acts that deliver, the venues and bookers who hire them, and paperwork that protects everyone.

Becoming a booking agent is easier than ever with GigXchange, because the third part is built in and free. The roster, the outreach templates, the contract on every booking, the invoices and the commission rates all come with the account - so a new agent can spend the time on the part that earns: matching the right act to the right room.
