Listing notes
The Swale Assembly is an independent live music venue on Sittingbourne's High Street, in the former Burton building, with a standing capacity of 230. It's run by the team behind The Booking Hall in Dover, and the stated aim is a professional room for touring original acts, touring tributes and emerging grassroots talent.
The calendar is mostly Friday and Saturday shows, and tribute nights make up a big share of it - Definitely Could Be Oasis, Word Up 80s, and nights built around Iron Maiden, Blondie, Marillion, Coldplay and Royal Blood vs Biffy Clyro - alongside pop-punk nights and comedy. Tickets go through Good Show.
It's a well-kitted room for its size: an Allen and Heath SQ6 desk, Turbosound PA, five independent monitor mixes, intelligent lighting and professional sound technicians, on a 3.2m x 7m stage. Load-in is up a flight of about 25 stairs, curfew is 11pm, most shows are 16+ and the venue doesn't publish stage times. There is currently no step-free access. Promoters can hire the room seven days a week, and a rate card is on the venue's site.

The Swale Assembly holds 230 standing, which makes it a medium room by the sizes we use across the directory. That is smaller than the typical room we list around Maidstone (about 300). At 150 to 500, a room tends to book acts with a following of their own: local headliners, or support for a touring band, often through a promoter.
