The Church House is a Grade II-listed gothic-revival pub at 4 St James' Street in Sheffield city centre (S1 2EW), built in 1859 on the site of an old vicarage and now one of the city's best-loved free-entry live music venues — named CAMRA Sheffield & District Pub of the Month. With a capacity of around 160, it runs an open-mic night every Wednesday, blues/folk/alternative live music every Friday and classic-rock covers every Saturday, all free to get in. The bar is licensed for live music, dancing and karaoke, there's a full backline including drums and amplifiers on the stage, and upstairs holds a recording studio available for hire. It books both original acts and covers across blues, folk, alternative and classic rock.

About The Church House

About This Open Mic
The Night
The Church House runs a weekly Open Mic Jam Session every Thursday from 8pm through to closing in this Grade II listed rock pub in Sheffield city centre. A full backline is set up and ready — drum kit and amps — so soloists, duos, bands and curious first-timers can just plug in and play. It's 18+, free to get in, and the room has a proper live-music feel rather than a corner of a quiet boozer.
What's on stage — equipment and backline at this venue, verified regularly.
