The Globe is an award-winning, community-owned multi-genre music venue at 11 Railway Street in Newcastle upon Tyne, run by Jazz.Coop - the first bar and venue in the UK owned and run by a music cooperative, bought freehold after a 2014 community share issue. It programmes over 200 live events a year, including around 60 jazz gigs, spanning jazz, rock & roll, Americana, folk, blues, indie and club nights, plus regular jazz and folk jam sessions for musicians of all abilities. Usually open from 7pm Wednesday to Sunday (and often other days), it's about ten minutes' walk from Central Station. Contact: howdy@theglobenewcastle.bar.

About This Open Mic
The Night
The Globe is a much-loved live-music bar on Railway Street in Newcastle, programming jazz, folk, blues, indie, roots and acoustic across the week. Its weekly open mic runs every Wednesday from 8pm, hosted by Alex Campbell, and it's free to come along and play. There's also a monthly first-Thursday Folk & Acoustic open-mic/jam (7:30–11pm) for the folkier crowd — a friendly, community-run spot for new and returning performers.
