About Jazz.Co-op

About This Open Mic
The Night
Jazz.Coop is the community co-operative behind The Globe on Railway Street — the first co-op in the UK to own its own music venue and education centre — and its Sunday afternoon jam sessions are the open door for players in Newcastle.
The sessions
Two run on alternating Sundays. Am Jam takes the 2nd Sunday of each month, 2-5pm, and is aimed squarely at amateur jazz musicians who haven't done much jamming — turn up and play, or just sit and listen. More Jam takes the 4th Sunday of each month, 2-5pm, for more experienced players, though you needn't be a professional. All instrumentalists and vocalists are welcome at both.
If ukuleles are more your thing, Ukes at The Globe usually lands on the 2nd Sunday too, 1:30-4:30pm, with informal jamming alongside local uke bands.
Sign-up process
No tickets and no list — walk in and put yourself forward on the day.
Cost
Admission is free, and the venue runs on donations, so drop something in the bucket.
