About Ghillie Dhu

About This Open Mic
The Night
Ghillie Dhu is a beautifully restored former church (originally St Thomas Episcopal Church) at the West End of Edinburgh's city centre, now a traditional Scottish bar and restaurant with cosy snugs and a serious whisky list. It hosts an open mic night in the main bar every Wednesday from 8:30pm — the venue's events calendar also features a Song Writers Hub open mic strand with Edinburgh singer-songwriter Aaron Wright. Free to watch, and a striking room to play: high church ceilings, a proper stage pedigree (the Auditorium upstairs hosts ceilidhs and gigs), and a West End crowd. Check the what's-on page at ghillie-dhu.co.uk before travelling.
