The Maypole Inn (also styled The Maypole Café Bar & Theatre) is an eclectic community and student pub at 42 Brook Street in Derby's Brook Street/Strutt's Park area (DE1 3PH), Derbyshire. By day the café bar serves fairtrade coffee, award-winning teas, handmade cakes and light lunches; by night it has a 'very eclectic' music policy and a genuine events space, hosting small-scale theatre, comedy, dance, spoken word and live music. Regular nights include a Tuesday quiz, Thursday open-mic and live performances every Saturday, with function-room hire available. There's an in-house PA on site, and it welcomes both original acts and covers — an arty, DIY grassroots Derby stage.

About The Maypole Inn

About This Open Mic
The Night
The Maypole Inn runs a weekly open mic every Thursday evening, a friendly fixture at this West End café bar on Brook Street (DE1 3PH). It's a relaxed, community-minded room with a small theatre to the rear, pizzas, and a good range of craft beers, plus a Tuesday quiz on the other midweek slots. A PA is provided; it's free to perform and free to watch, so just turn up and have a word with the host on the night.
