The Quadrant is one of Brighton's oldest pubs — a quirky, Grade II listed independent boozer at 12-13 North Street (BN1 3GJ), just down the hill from Brighton station and trading since 1864. Upstairs is an enclosed performance room with a stage and lighting that's one of central Brighton's prime spots for live music, comedy and craft workshops. Its weekly open mic runs every Tuesday 8.30pm–11pm, with a warm, intimate atmosphere of singalongs, foot-stomping and performances from local singer-songwriters; happy-hour drinks run through the night. Slots are first-come — arrive before 9pm to be sure of a turn.
