The Allison Arms is a much-loved Southside pub on Pollokshaws Road (open since 1884), known for its German cask and craft ales and a U-shaped bar. Its weekly open mic runs on Sunday evenings, hosted by Matthew Malone and Crawford Smith — a friendly, welcoming session where players get a free drink and a warm reception from the staff. Free to play; turn up on the night.

About The Allison Arms
The Allison Arms is a much-loved Southside Glasgow pub at 720 Pollokshaws Road (Pollokshields, G41), trading since 1884 and known for a strong line in German cask and craft ales and single malts. It is dog-friendly and runs a busy weekly events calendar. For performers the centrepiece is the free Wednesday-night open mic from 8pm — a PA and vocal mics are provided, walk-in sign-up opens at 7.30pm and 12-minute slots fill fast on the night, so early arrival is advised. Beyond that, there is Saturday-night karaoke and a Thursday pub quiz, making it a friendly, low-pressure first stage for acoustic acts and singer-songwriters.
