The Night
The Settle Inn is the oldest pub in Stirling, a snug, characterful spot on St Mary's Wynd, and it runs an open mic every Monday from 7pm to 10pm, hosted by Scott Ashworth. There's a house guitar available, so you can travel light, and the atmosphere is warm and traditional — they also do folk sessions midweek. Free to play, no fuss, just come along and have a go. A lovely, low-key Monday-night fixture in the heart of old Stirling.
About Settle Inn
The Settle Inn on St Mary's Wynd, built in 1733, is the oldest pub in Stirling, sitting on the hill up to the castle with a vaulted stone roof and a snug, homely feel. It's well known for live music — most notably Wednesday-night sessions where local musicians gather to play Scottish folk — with the cavern-style room at the rear hosting music on various evenings (plus a Sunday-night quiz). It serves a well-chosen range of ales but no food, leaning fully into its character as a traditional drinking-and-music pub. The format suits folk, Scottish-traditional and acoustic performers.
