The Pack Horse is a much-loved community pub at 208 Woodhouse Lane in the Hyde Park / Woodhouse area of Leeds (LS2 9DX), upstairs from which runs the Mos Eisley Cantina open mic every Thursday — doors 7:30pm, music from 8pm, free entry. The night is run by local music and well-being charity Cloth Cat and has a remarkable pedigree: it has operated for over 28 years across various Leeds venues and has been based at The Pack Horse since August 2019. It's an eclectic, genuinely grassroots night — as well as musicians it welcomes spoken word, comedy, magic or anything equally creative, as long as it's respectful. Just turn up and put your name down. A PA and vocal mic are provided; bring your own instrument, amp and pedals. Leeds open-mic regulars overlap heavily with the local songwriter scene, so expect generous applause and sharp ears for melody.

The Night
The legendary 'Mos Eisley Cantina' open mic — run by Cloth Cat Leeds — has been going for over 28 years across the city and has lived upstairs at The Pack Horse on Woodhouse Lane every Thursday since August 2019. Doors 7:30pm, music from 8pm, free in, and you can simply turn up and perform. It's a proper set-up: full stage, a PA with a sound engineer on the desk, backline available and a full lighting rig, with a featured artist most weeks. Live music, spoken word, comedy, magic — anything respectful and creative is welcome.
