The ‌‌‍Pack Horse is a much-loved community pub at 208 Woodhouse Lane in the Hyde Park / Woodhouse area of Leeds (LS2 9DX), upstairs from which runs the Mos Eisley Cantina open mic every Thursday — doors 7:30pm, music from 8pm, free entry. The night is run by local music and well-being charity Cloth Cat and has a remarkable pedigree: it has operated for over 28 years across various Leeds venues and has been based at The Pack Horse since August 2019. It's an eclectic, genuinely grassroots night — as well as musicians it welcomes spoken word, comedy, magic or anything equally creative, as long as it's respectful. Just turn up and put your name down. A PA and vocal mic are provided; bring your own instrument, amp and pedals. Leeds open-mic regulars overlap heavily with the local songwriter scene, so expect generous applause and sharp ears for melody.
