The Rum Shack is a Caribbean bar, kitchen and venue on Glasgow's Southside, and its 'Once Upon a Time in the South' open mic runs on most Wednesdays, hosted by Kenneth Noah Blair (Noah & The West River Band) and Julen Santamaria (Awkward Family Portraits). Entry is free and the night is over-18s only. The venue's own calendar lists each date (Wednesday 23 and 30 September, 7 and 28 October 2026 at the time of writing) as 7pm to 10pm, with the event page giving doors at 8pm and an 11pm curfew, and it occasionally adds extra Tuesday or Sunday editions from 7:30pm — so check the date's own listing before you set off.
