Piston Broke is a real ale pub on Shoreham-by-Sea High Street, decorated throughout with engine parts and Formula One memorabilia. It keeps up to four cask ales and around five real ciders and perries, with a regular Wunderbar promotion for local Sussex beers. The pub is a hub for grassroots live music: an open stage every Wednesday evening plus a monthly Friday afternoon open mic, live bands on Friday and Saturday evenings and on Sunday afternoons, a Jammit Dammit jam session on the last Monday of the month and a blues jam on the third Thursday. It is a traditional, compact pub room rather than a purpose-built music venue.
