The Head of Steam sits inside Huddersfield's Grade I-listed station building, with its own entrances from Platform 1 and St George's Square, and it's a proper craft-beer and real-ale destination. The open mic runs every Tuesday from 7pm to 10pm — everyone's welcome to perform or just come along and watch — making it an easy, central spot to try out a few songs over a good pint.
