Foodstory is a vegetarian and vegan cafe at 13-15 Thistle Street, Aberdeen (AB10 1XZ), where everything is baked and cooked from scratch. Beyond the food, it's a warm grassroots music spot: every Wednesday from 6–8pm it hosts an open-mic night with Andrew Hyman, where you can play a few songs, listen, or just hang out midweek, and it runs monthly 'roots and reggae' nights with resident DJs, vegan food and dancing. A characterful ageing Monington & Weston piano sits in the room for anyone to play. It's an intimate space (around 50 standing) that welcomes both original songs and covers across acoustic, open-mic and reggae formats, with an in-house PA.
