About This Open Mic
The Night
The Three Tuns on Sutton Coldfield High Street is one of the town's premier music pubs, and its open mic runs every Tuesday from 8.30pm through till late. It's a warm, friendly room with a full PA, welcoming all ages and abilities across acoustic and electric — the only rule is live performers, no backing tracks. Entry is free; just turn up at 8.30, or phone the pub (or host Paul) ahead to book a slot. Live bands take over on Saturdays.
About The Three Tuns
The Three Tuns is the oldest pub in Sutton Coldfield, a Grade-listed former coaching inn dating to the early 16th century at 19 High Street (B72 1XS), reputedly haunted by a Civil War 'Royalist Drummer Boy'. It is a proper grassroots live-music local: live bands play every Saturday, and an open-mic night runs with a full PA welcoming both acoustic and electric performers, including a dedicated half-hour 'Band Feature' slot (booked via Paul on 0121 354 9217). With a full backline (drums, guitar and bass amps), great cask ales and a home-cooked menu, it takes both originals and covers.
