KMAX is a French-Canadian singer, songwriter, and performer shaping the sound of a new era. Born in Haiti and raised in Montreal, KMAX (Karl Max Roseau) first found his voice in church choirs and talent shows. After moving to Canada at age 10 with his mother and siblings, he overcame a tough upbringing—marked by poverty, the absence of a father figure, and street-related adversity—through music and sports. A former #1-ranked middleweight fighter in the Montreal Fight League (MFL), KMAX's discipline and resilience have become trademarks of his artistry. In 2018, he released his powerful book Le Gentleman Cogneur, followed by co-authoring the international bestseller How Big Can You Dream. His musical journey took a major leap when he moved to Los Angeles in 2020, recording Fallen (2021), and signing a publishing deal with Concor/Sony Music Entertainment in 2021. He followed with the futuristic Metaverse (2022), the uplifting EP Ontop of the World, and most recently, the heartfelt Letter to Her (2024)—a deeply emotional album blending raw storytelling with cinematic sound. KMAX's music flows between Pop, Hip-Hop, Rap, and R&B, marked by powerful vocals, introspective lyrics, and genre-blending production. He's performed across Canada, including on Madchild's 2023 Canada Tour, the conceptual Exodus Tour in 2024, and headlined venues like The Farsides in Montreal. From Haiti to Los Angeles, from the fight ring to the world stage—KMAX is not just an artist. He's a movement.
