The Old Justice is a Grade II-listed, neo-Tudor riverside pub at 94 Bermondsey Wall East, on the banks of the Thames in Bermondsey, south-east London (SE16 4TY). Built in 1934 for Hoare & Co by celebrated inter-war pub architect Sidney C. Clark, it reopened in recent years after a long closure and now runs a regular weekly open mic every Tuesday from 8pm, with free entry for performers and audience. The night has a fun, friendly atmosphere — the venue encourages players to message them on Facebook or Instagram to book a slot each week, though turning up on the night is welcome too. A PA and at least one vocal mic are provided — bring your own instrument, amp and pedals. Solo songwriters, duos and acoustic acts work best given the gear set-up; full bands should ask the host first. The pub also hosts other live music including Irish/folk sessions, and has cinematic pedigree, appearing in Paul McCartney's 'No More Lonely Nights' video and the 1970s TV classic 'The Sweeney'.
