Soul Mama Islington is a live-music venue and restaurant on the first floor of Angel Central (21 Parkfield Street, N1 0PS), the sister room to the original Soul Mama in Stratford. Founded by saxophonist and broadcaster YolanDa Brown and T Oyelola, it blends performance with soul food drawn from African, Caribbean and South American kitchens — slow-cooked Caribbean curries, rice and peas, jerk wings and signature arepas. The programme is deliberately eclectic, running jazz, soul, gospel and reggae alongside comedy, fireside chats and family concerts, with regular live reggae brunches a recurring fixture. It's a warm, food-led music room in the heart of Islington's Angel district.
