The Ballroom is a striking live-music, comedy and events venue hidden behind an unassuming grey doorway on Orange Street in the heart of Canterbury's cathedral city. Set in a listed 18th-century ballroom, the room pairs high ceilings and period opulence with eclectic, decadent styling and a genuinely excellent in-house sound system. With a capacity of around 140, it hosts a broad sweep of genres — indie, rock, pop, big-band jazz and more — from touring and local acts (The Crash Of Moons Club, Ogives Big Band and Chop Suey among them), as well as comedy nights, themed parties and private hires. A well-stocked cocktail bar and friendly staff round out one of Canterbury's most characterful grassroots stages.
