The Maiden's Head is a traditional pub on Wincheap, just outside Canterbury's city walls and a short walk from the Westgate. It runs a weekly Thursday open mic that is set up as much for jamming as for solo sets, with a house drum kit and other instruments kept on site and a house drummer available to back performers. The room is aimed at first-time performers as well as regulars. Performers book a slot in advance through the host rather than a paper sign-up sheet.
