Shenanigans is a genuinely independent Irish bar at 77 Tithebarn Street in Liverpool's city-centre business district, a five-minute walk from Mathew Street. It's a lively, quirky room with eclectic decor that builds its week around live music: bands every Thursday, Friday and Saturday night, a live Irish band every Sunday afternoon, and a Thursday-night open mic for newer performers. Alongside the music it's known for pouring one of the best pints of Guinness in the city and serving breakfast and food through the day. With a standing capacity around 70 it's an intimate stage well suited to Irish, folk, acoustic and covers acts.

The Night
Shenanigans is an iconic Irish pub on Tithebarn Street, next to the Superlambanana, with Irish pop, rock, country and folk heavy on the soundtrack and regular live sessions and jam nights from local musicians. It used to run a Thursday open mic (with Connie Kingston), but that night is confirmed to have stopped. There's still live music and jam sessions on the bill, so check the pub's own listings for current nights rather than the old open-mic slot.
