Handyman Supermarket is an independent bar and brewery on Smithdown Road in south Liverpool, open seven days and brewing its own ales on site. The space is split in two, with one side of the building set up for dancing and gigs.
It's a genuinely mixed community venue: gigs sit alongside comedy, chill-out sessions and pop-up markets, with a resident jazz band in the past. Handyman is also the main stage of the free Smithdown Festival each May, and it's on the bill for Independent Venue Week 2027 with Smithdown Festival and Capeesh nights; electronic acts like Konformer and ATM Musick have played live here too.
